Today I went on a smaller 9.3 km (5 1/2 mile) walk to St. Ippolyts.
I walked from Wymondley to Sperberry Hill at the bottom of which is some lovely private park land.
Fortunately the parkland has a little footpath which although fenced does go through and takes you up to the little parish church at the top of the hill.
There has been a church here for over 900 years, the current one was built in the mid nineteenth century using old stone from the abandoned Missendon chapel.
View of the church from the village green.
Ponies at Ashbrook on the way back.
